"Privacy" Policy
If I'm reading correctly, in order to change privacy preferences such that one is not subjected to scrutiny by third party advertisers who track people and place targeted ads everywhere one goes, one must visit multiple third party sites, set preferences at those sites, and have faith they will leave one alone. But the links to those sites don't work.
Is that about it? Cuz if it is, I'm gone.

Thinking it over, I doubt there is anything you can do about it, short of abandoning the forum-construction service and building your own forum from scratch.Strangelove wrote:Mate, you'll have to explain your objection in a bit more detail cuz I havn't adminned this site properly in about 7 years! I have disabled Ad Blocker for the Christian wilderness domain, which means I'll be getting tailored ads on other websites. That is creepy, and it tends to trap one in an informational echo chamber, so to speak.
I visited all twelve of the sites to which one must go in order to opt out of tracking and personalized ads, but I could not figure out how to use them all. One required me to send my email in order to opt out.
The page christian-wilderness.forumvi dot com/privacy# reads (emphasis added),
"Advertising Cookies: Forumotion forums display advertising, which helps finance the services we make available to you. These ads are displayed through advertising services and may generate cookies on your device, including to display you personalized advertising content....
"Sirdata is a data marketing company that allows its Customers to provide Users with relevant offers tailored to their interests.
For more information:sirdata dot com/privacy/.
You wish to disable the collection of your data by Sirdata: sirdata dot com/opt-out/.
(This link is to a page written in French. I don't read French. The link which seems to be for opting out of tracking and tailored ads seems not to work.)
"...Forumotion uses third party providers. These providers may store cookies on your computer, use web beacons, collect technical data such as your IP address and store this data to provide content and advertising relevant to your browsing habits.
"By using the services offered by Forumotion , you agree that we may share a hashed version (anonymous and unreadable) of your e-mail address with our third party providers, and that they may store a cookie on your browser to make a link between your browser and the information our partner has (such as IP address, browser or operating system type and version, or demographic or inferred information). You also consent to the collection, use and sharing of your data by these third party providers for the display of personalized, contextual and behavioural advertising.
"If you do not want your data to be used for these purposes, you may at any time read these information about the practices of our third party providers and exercise your right of refusal:

Very diligent my friend.
I just tap OK on cookies pop ups and never read the wall-o-text.
Really not bothered at this stage of the game. But if there's anything I can do let me know.

I’m not sure any of this matters in the grand scheme of technological things. There are many ways in which all of our data is gleened for every use imaginable. I doubt anything done relative to this site makes one any more or less vulnerable to whatever nightmares we all know it leads to. It’s all inevitable in that sense.

You make a good point.CONSPICILLUM wrote:I’m not sure any of this matters in the grand scheme of technological things. We see that we are being hemmed in, little by little. I have personally been to court, fighting for law, order, accountability, and secured liberties, but the mob of lawbreakers is a zombie Apocalypse, dissociative and devilish, with unlimited resources.
Public servants world wide will violate their oaths to the detriment of their own souls in order to maintain their gigs. Folks don't realize that even a mere traffic court judge expects to retire with at least thirty million dollars.
If one is willing to really fight hard and long, one can win small battles. But the war will be won -- has been won -- by Jesus.

I’m Lutheran… which is only significant to clarify a point of Lutheran confessional doctrine. One unique perspective of Luther is that of the two kingdoms: the kingdom of the right hand and the kingdom of the left hand.
We don’t have to become Theonomists or Theocratists to advocate for God’s Divine Natural Law. We demonstate all of that within the kingdom of the right hand and don’t make it a Dominion priority to try to take over the kingdom of the left hand.
I understand your points about corporations and about adminstrators (judges). They’re all fictions. They have no authentic reality of existence.
The war was indeed won by Jesus Christ. He rules and reigns now, and ever more unto ages of ages.
