On the Edge

Post by On the Edge on Thu Dec 06, 2012 3:59 am

Hi!
I just came here after watching the youtube series on The Noahide Deception!
Excellent video!

I decided to join up especially after reading Strangelove's testimony of having been banned from other sites. The same has happened to me. (Because of my "anti-semitism", of course. *Looks for a "rolling eyes" icon!*)

Looks like my favorite subjects here are all covered, but I'll be happy to share anything of interest when it comes along.

Normally I don't want to go if I'm already "preaching to the choir", but it's getting lonely out here and I thought I could use some fellowship of like minds.

Thanks for having me, and I look forward to dropping by often!

Your friend, in Christ,
On the Edge

Hey Edge.

Thanks for watching my video series. I got stuck after part 5 because the subject of communism is such a sprawling topic I just didn't know how to get it all into a 15 minute segment. Maybe I'll get back to it and split it over 2 video's.

It's a small forum here friend. Not much debate as opponents are usually scared off by the subject matter, and being outnumbered, but its great to have new people on board. Look forward to your insights.

Welcome.

Doc.

Doc, you did a fantastic job on those videos! The way you brought ll that documentation together really left no stone unturned. I have since forwarded it to several people that I know of who need to see these things.

If you get around to doing one on communism, that could be a series it itself! I'd sure like to see what you'd come up with.

Well, it's good to be here, and I thank you for the warm welcome. Like I said, I want to be among some like-minded individuals for a change. I feel at home already!

Thank you, Zone!
Seeing that album cover led me to feel right at home here, too. Lots of meaning with that one for me.

It'll take me awhile to catch up on all you have going on here, but I've gotta say, I'm impressed!

This is going to be my "home base"! Lots for me to learn and share as I get the chance.

Thanks again for the welcome!

And, it just so happens, your verse of the month, Ephesians 5:11, is one of my very favorite verses I live by!

All good signs for me to have come to a forum I can relate to!

Re: On the Edge

Post by On the Edge on Sat Dec 08, 2012 2:48 am

Well, I might be a little shy about that to start with, but I can tell you what brings me to a sight like yours with such relief!

About four years ago, these "end-times" subjects started to interest me like never before. I never cared much for prophecies before, so it was time to give them a look. (With all the news being "global" this or "global" that, I had vaguely remembered something about a "one world government" being biblical, and that was my launching pad.)

My husband and I had been Christians, for better or worse, many years up until then, but didn't classify ourselves as of one specific denomination or another. Just "Christian".

Well, you know how most of the "end times" things are on the internet in general...Hal Lindsay stuff, right? We even found some of his books and read them and got to thinking this was the way it was meant to be taken and understood. Not being firmly grounded in truth, how could we have known?

It was on another forum that someone said I ought to slow down, that I had a lot of different perspectives jumbled together,(my own doing there!), but I knew at that point , he was right. There was a whole lot more I needed to find out if I was going to try to sound like I knew what I was talking about!

I guess I started trying to understand the basis for Futurism, and that led me to Dispensationalism, and that led me to Scofield, and that led me to Zionism, and I've been sliding down the rabbit hole ever since! Trying to take as many down with me who are willing to go!

When I go by On the Edge, it has to do with feeling like having one foot in this world and one in the next. That, and my husband and I live on the coast in Northern California, in a tsunami zone, no less, so it feels like we could get washed off the ground and swept away at some point in time, if we don't see it coming. (We really don't have the opportunity to move anytime soon, so we just hope for the best. God's will is fine by us!)

We became Sabbath-keepers a while back, thanks to a series of teachings we had heard by a man named Walter Veith, a Seventh Day Adventist. While I personally don't identify with the church stance on Ellen White, I am inspired by their desire to be obedient and live godly lives. (Whether Ellen White is the 'real deal" or not, I can't say. I have a good friend who says she is, and I respect his opinions. I'm just not as solid on it myself. And furthermore, I feel if she was just reaching out with the gospel, then the gospel is good enough as is.)

We're in our mid to late 40's. We gave up lots of worldly habits these last couple of years, from television to smoking to eating meat, and more....trying to "come out of this world". We spent enough time wallowing in sin and ignorance. Now having the blessings of the Lord opening our eyes and leading us to discover truth in a way we can fully appreciate, (at a time in our lives when we know what to do with it!) has been pretty amazing, considering how little we deserve it.

Surely, His grace is astounding and we are grateful every single day for how things are unfolding.

(How's that for starters? Very Happy )

Oh, and I've got to tell you again,...this site is amazing!!

Thanks for the info Edge.

I've seen a few Walter Veith videos. Some nuggets of truth in much of his stuff.

Question though:

Who is the Mother of Harlots?

Though I think Walter Veith has much to offer, I am more concerned with things I don't hear him saying.

Apparently someone heard him say something I didn't though!

Did you know he is up on charges of anti-semitism at the moment ?
I never would have thought that of him, but it makes me like him even more, knowing he is under attack like the rest of us. Even the official SDA church won't support him.

charges against Walter Veith

Post by zone on Tue Dec 11, 2012 2:36 am

The following is a full report of the situation surrounding charges against Walter Veith as of December 2, 2012

On October 20, 2012, Walter Veith preached the lecture “King of the North (Part 2)” from the new series Repairing the Breach in German [German title Sturm aus dem Norden] in Marienberg SDA Church in Nurnberg, Germany, to an audience of approximately 350 people. The lecture was also live-streamed to approximately 1500 people. Almost immediately after the presentation, Walter Veith received violent opposition by way of an article by EANN (an independent Adventist magazine in Germany sharing similar ideas and mindset as Spectrum magazine) about his claims of Freemason/Jesuit involvement in the creation of the State in Israel after WWII and the way he expressed himself in regards to the Jews during Hitler’s regime. Although EANN is run by a few Adventist individuals, it is not an official institution of the SDA church in Germany but a privately funded online news magazine that designates itself as an “Independent Journal for Religion, Church and Society”. Three points specifically were brought up as points of contention:.....

Spectrum Magazine sure doesn't care for Veith much!
Accuses him of talking about "conspiracies"!
And we know those don't exist, right? Rolling Eyes

(Nope! Still too soon for me to post links.)

I agree, that is where we're headed. And yes, I have read "1984"!

I love Walter Veith's style of bringing out his points using the words of the people whom he is exposing. ("It's not me saying it! Read if yourself!")

That is the best way to make a case.
(And why those videos on the Noahide Laws impressed me so much, with the amount of detailed information from all their own sites.)

People like Veith do alot of good, and it is up to us to sort through it and put it in context. I don't think anyone has it all right, except the Lord Himself.

Trouble for me is that I find Walter's voice so soothing that I have a hard time staying awake through his presentations!

Re: On the Edge

Post by On the Edge on Thu Dec 13, 2012 2:18 am

Hi Zone!

You both make me look like an amateur, but I'm humbled and happy to be here, just the same. Very Happy

I had read about the Noahide Laws before, but was amazed at the sources Doc used. That was brilliant. I can't recommend them to others enough.

Like with them, a lot of my time is spent going over things I've already known about, but to read it from different authors, because you never know what new info will turn up. (Besides, I'm just plain fascinated at how organized and efficient down through the years the conspiracy has been. I guess when you figure in the supernatural aspect of it, it's no wonder it keeps getting a boost.)

Right now, I've been wondering about the Edomites. Is there an "end times" prophecy concerning them from a reliable source? I seem to recall reading something about it, but don't know quite where to start. (And of course, it seems when I do get started, before long, I am side-tracked!)

On scriptural things,...I'm having a bit of a debate with my Adventist friend about the difference between the Sabbath being the mark versus the Holy Spirit. (I believe the Sunday as mark of the beast is just an Ellen White teaching.)

"Keep my Sabbaths holy, that they may be a sign between us. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God."~Ezekiel 20:20

versus

Ephesians 1:13~"And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth,
the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him
with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit."

I'm not even really "debating" it even, because I don't want to offend anyone. And I do observe the Sabbath, so I don't find it irrelevant either.

When I break things down to their "least common denominator", I find we can do nothing without love for His ways and for me, that comes through the gift of the Holy Spirit opening my eyes and heart to even want to obey in the first place, so to me, the Sabbath itself cannot be the "line in the sand".

Talmudic Jews observe Sabbath but hate Jesus Christ.

Only God knows our hearts. Observing the Sabbath is something that comes from wanting to be obedient to God, but I didn't feel any less "saved" before I observed it either. By keeping the Sabbath, I am not earning my salvation in any way either. Just trying to please God the best I can, and I do feel a blessing from keeping them. It's just one of the many ways I can choose to put Him first.

well said Edge.

well, don't go at it from an 'endtimes' perspective might be advisable. maybe just find them in history first (which i'm sure you've done). the tricky part is knowing that terms/names have changed, and ppl use them differently.

one place to start, recall that the Herods were Edomites.
they even called themselves 'king(s) of the jews"!

we have some stuff on that....though by no means exhaustive.

On the Edge wrote:

ya....ellen white was a false prophetess extraordinaire.
her group were masons. we have some stuff on that somewhere here as well.
i by no means want to upset you, or have you change your mind about adventism, unless you're led to.

here's a link to a ministry for former adventists:

http://www.formeradventist.com/

many consider them within orthodoxy. what former SDAs testify though is that it's not til much later that ppl find out the sabbathkeeping and so on ARE considered critical for salvation.
i know you don't, and that's as it should be, as Paul told us. not to judge one another.
if they're not pressuring you, there's no problem.

that's good Smile
we do take our instruction from the New Testament first. remeber we are in a New Covenant.

exactly. so it can not, as you said, be the line in the sand.

keep a careful ear to what SDA really believes though, as over time what began as a desire to rest and worship on saturday may become bondage. i hear they do it slowly...just watch out.

Zone, you're right about the "end times" angle! I realized that pretty much right away, that that was the wrong direction to take, because all those popular "end times" sites pop up!

Thanks for the tip, and if I ever accumulate something that's worthy of sharing, I will happily do so.

As for the SDA concern, I thank you. Trust me, I've had too many "red flags" pop up for me to want to go where they might want to take me.

My only involvement is with a friend online, and I have been posting at their Adventist site for a short time. Trying to point out some things that they wouldn't likely hear about anywhere else, but I'm not there to make a case against them. They have been pretty secluded in what they've been told, and don't even want to hear anything if it isn't from another SDA.

For the ones who love the Lord with all their heart, as I feel my friend does, than to me, they're good, and God can sort us all out in His time.

I think they will tire of me before I do of them, but I will give it my best while I'm there!

This is my thread on Revelation 20:4.
http://www.theadventistforum.yourlivecommunity.com/revelation-204_topic2445.html

*Not as much activity from others as I'd like.

There was a former owner of the site who banned me, but this new owner lifted the ban. I think many are refraining from posting on account of their loyalty to the former owner. But hey, if they are reading it, then that is something! I can hope for that! Very Happy

P.S.
I wasn't trying to bore you by having you read through that thread! I just recalled a thread on this site when Doc was curious about what people were doing at other sites, so thought I'd share.
Not tooting my own horn or anything. (I couldn't link to it before now, so now I did. Very Happy )
