I just DONT understand! There is this EMPHASIS of making Christianity MORE AND MORE of a Religion. and less and less of Following Our LORD and MASTER. (who allready set in motion what we should do...why the emphasis on teaching and adition of new laws and regulations?)

WHAT did Jesus say makes a disciple? Was it being under laws of Man? Was it even being under Mosaic Law? Was it going through seminars and signing Contracts, and covenants. Do Cell groups, and partnerships, and Cadres, and all these rituals and humanistic knolwedges make you a Disciple? What makes you a disciple?

"Christianity" is being Watered down, and having less and less to do with the TRUE Gosepl. So that by the time these dominionists DO get there Dominion. Jesus is going to be out of the equation all together, and we will have on our hands, an Ecumenist, Quasi-judaic, mish mosh of islam, gnosis, and other wandering religions all thrown together in a socialistic YMCA of God.

"Christianity" is the MAJOR part of this ONE World Religion adn they are doing it right infront of EVERYONE.

But maybe its just me.

PROMISE 5

"A Promise Keeper is committed to supporting the mission of his church by honoring and praying for his pastor, and by actively giving his time and resources."

Which church is that? THE Church...or his church building vision?

Wow. Incredible.

Good thread dude. I want a full expose.

Different group I think Ad.

Wiki:

Oath Keepers is an American nonprofit organization[1] that advocates that its members (current and former U.S. military and law enforcement) uphold the Constitution of the United States should they be ordered to violate it.[2]

The Oath Keepers' motto is "Not On Our Watch!", and their stated objective is to resist, by any means necessary, those actions taken by the U.S. Government that overstep Constitutional boundaries.

The Problem

However, critics of Promise Keepers charge its leaders routinely express views that are antithetical to the Bible's teachings, and outside the realm of mainstream belief. They claim it has an unbridled ecumenicism, a charismatic leadership emphasis, and relies on an anti-God secular psychology.

They say Promise Keepers mimics new-age male bonding and self-discovery therapies, and endorses a book which suggests levels of initiation rites to manhood. They decry its emphasis on phallic symbolism and the fact that Jesus is presented as a sexual male. They note that PK requires submission to leaders and employs a pyramid structure in its organization, that it intrudes on the privacy of a man's family life and sexual habits. They point out that the group encourages male domination of women, and is rooted in the Vineyard ministry, with strong links to the Kansas City Prophets -- a controversial cult claiming visions and revelations from God.

Critics say they do not presume to judge the integrity or the motives of all those in Promise Keepers or question the salvation of these men. They concede that many involved with PK are sincere. Instead, they say they are concerned with the doctrine of the movement and the ministry being promoted. They stress that any group that claims to represent Jesus must 1) preach a pure Gospel, and 2) address man's spiritual growth from an accurate interpretation of God's Word. Critics say Promise Keepers fails on both counts.

They worry that the vast majority of men who attend PK rallies probably know very little about the beliefs or church affiliation of the speakers who appear. The lecturers are accepted as authorities on Christian living simply because they say they are Christians and believe the Bible.

"Since the ministry of these teachers runs the gamut from compromising new-evangelicalism and charismatic error, to ecumenical liberalism, it is clear that they [are] introducing the Promise Keepers to unscriptural doctrines and fellowships," says Al Dager of Redmond, WA. "This is a very serious matter."

Rev. Gil Rugh, senior pastor of Indian Hills Community Church in Lincoln, NE. agrees. "There is so much theological diversity among those involved with Promise Keepers that no in-depth discussion of Scripture or what it means to be a Christian could take place without tearing the movement apart."

As one former Promise Keepers member remarked, "it's so diluted and deluded, you can't get very much out of it."

WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE PROMISE KEEPERS?

How do these guys fit into the equation?

Men's Fraternity

Men's Fraternity is a series of three one-year-long studies, beginning with The Quest for Authentic Manhood, followed by Winning at Work and Home, and ends with The Great Adventure. Men's Fraternity provides men with an encouraging process that teaches them how to live lives of authentic manhood as modeled by Jesus Christ and directed by the Word of God.

Men's Fraternity was designed to help men come together and strengthen each other through weekly sessions that combine biblical teaching and small group interaction.

These time-tested resources have been used all over the world to equip men to make their pursuit of noble manhood a lifelong priority. Church leaders and lay members are using the series to energize the men of their church and to connect with men in the community. Many men also use the series in their own personal pursuit of authentic manhood.

THE GOAL

Imagine the transforming power of men coming together within your church and community to honestly examine their lives and take the courageous steps necessary to embrace authentic manhood on a journey to become who God intends them to be. That is the goal of Men's Fraternity.

When men connect in life-changing ways, a powerful ripple effect touches families, workplaces, and the church. Deeper connections with God and other men inspire participants to connect more meaningfully in all facets of their lives. They climb beyond the walls of isolation and aspire to a biblical viewpoint marked by integrity, boldness, and compassion.
Through this powerful series, men learn to reject passivity, accept responsibility, lead courageously, and expect God's greater reward.

This is interesting stuff from the Promise Keepers website:

How does Covenant Eyes help me?

Covenant Eyes offers two primary services for men and their families.

Internet Accountability

Covenant Eyes Internet Accountability is not a filter: it doesn’t block websites. Instead, it monitors all the sites you visit and sends a report to a person that you choose. In effect, your friend (or parent) is sitting beside you each time you go online, encouraging you to make good choices.

Covenant Eyes Accountability, and the relationship it brings, helps change hearts.

Sounds like a good idea? Or maybe not?

Is this the kinda stuff they recommend at Christian accountability seminars?

Heh heh...

http://www.leaderu.com/orgs/probe/docs/knights.html

The MAIN part that bothers me...is this:

"A Transcendent Cause - Life is ultimately unsatisfying if it is lived solely for self. Jesus said if you give up your life you will find it, so if you live for a cause greater than yourself, you'll be happy and fulfilled. A transcendent cause is a cause that a person believes is truly heroic (a noble endeavor calling for bravery and sacrifice), timeless (has significance beyond the moment), and is supremely meaningful (not futile).

The only antidote to the futility of life is a transcendent cause and a vision for life that "integrates the end of life with the beginning," and connects time and eternity. (this parts my favorite)Obviously becoming a Christian, developing a personal relationship with Christ, and living for Him are basic, irreplaceable elements for having a meaningful life. " (my emphasis, my underline, and my words in blue )

OH living for Christ is BASIC...thats just the begining of the Christian Walk...One you live for HIM...then...then What? you put him on a shelf and become a Knight? Jesus is just the framework for the life of a follower of Christ? Im not following...

and then there is this...this Just shoots the horse for me...

"Furthermore, there are numerous biblical passages that picture knight-like images, some of whom are angelic beings and others are Christ Himself. Specifically, Revelation is replete with images of courtly life familiar to medieval knights: kings, thrones, crowns, swords, censers, bows, armies, eagles, dragons, chariots, precious stones, incense, etc."

Wait...What!? DO you see what they are doing? im not even going to takle this with MY words...Becasue if you dont see what they are doing...then What i say would make no difference.

Not that im saying "chivalry" should be done away with...NO! that Idea SHOULD be what a man is...but THIS is not going to make a man what a man should be...only JESUS can do that...

There are making JESUS, JUST the Framework for the New Man. Instead of Killing the man, nailing him to the cross and keeping him there.
