All Roads Lead To Rome! Protestant Evangelical Traitors!

this is not a new vid, and surely we know what's happening.
but is ROME really the final destination in the great falling away?
Scripture does not support Rome as Mystery Babylon the Great....a clever look alike. but she is NOT The Mother of Harlots.

Ecumenism Empty Re: Ecumenism

Post by Adstar Thu Feb 03, 2011 1:07 am

We can discuss our beliefs as to who the harlot of babylon
actually is. And as time moves into the future i believe one way or the other
the identity of the Harlot will become more evident.

But from my point of view i see the situation more liquid in nature. It's not
just the Harlot (organization/religion/particular group) I see the harlot as a
head group (Or small organising group) gathering allies who mould into her. A
seemingly lose alliance that is more unified then would seem on the surface and
wider that most would think.

Ecumenism is for me more of a sign that this has already happened rather then a
sign of it happening. The very fact that these people are meeting means they
have already compromised their faith and they are already working now to re-program
their congregations to accept what is already, for them, a done deal.

So i believe we need to be thinking and keeping our eyes on the over all
picture. It is still wise to focus on doing our best to identify the beast but
this should not be at the expense of seeing the greater picture of the many
different denominations who have compromised the Message of our Messiah Jesus
who are also in every way just unofficial daughters of the Harlot of Babylon.

hey Rob
i think what's really lurking in it all is the ecumenical (Catholicism is Christianity) statement. by signing it, one is saying they approve of RCC dogma as authentic Christianity.

United Religions Initiative (URI)

The United Religions Initiative (URI) is an international, grassroots, interfaith bridge-building organization modeled after the United Nations. It aims to create social change by promoting "enduring, daily interfaith cooperation," ending "religiously motivated violence", and promoting "cultures of peace, justice, and healing for the Earth and all living beings."[1]

Guided by the vision of founder The Rt. Rev. William E. Swing the URI Charter was developed through a series of international conferences and consultation with transformative organizational design practitioners David Cooperrider and Diana Whitney.[2] The URI Charter was signed by more than two-hundred people present, and hundreds more joining over the Internet, at a ceremony in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA on June 26, 2000.

William Edwin Swing

William Edwin Swing (born 26 August 1936) was the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of California, from 1980 to 2006. He was ordained a deacon at Huntington, West Virginia, on June 11, 1961; he was ordained a priest at Wheeling, West Virginia on December 20, 1961 and consecrated as the VII Bishop of California at Grace Cathedral, San Francisco, on September 29, 1979. He is the Founder and President of the United Religions Initiative (URI), an international NGO working to promote interfaith cooperation. He is an author and inspirational speaker and has received numerous awards for his commitment to service

Background - Who are the players?

A. The United Religions Initiative (URI) is an interfaith movement founded in 1995 by William Swing, the bishop of the Episcopal Church's diocese in the San Francisco Bay Area. It has expanded worldwide, with over 200 chapters - the majority of which are outside the affluent nations of North America, Western Europe, and the Pacific Rim.

The URI works closely with the United Nations, and it has received funding from many sources. Among them are wealthy donors (including foundations headed by George Soros and Bill Gates), a Federal agency (the United States Institute of Peace), and organizations (the Rudolf Steiner Foundation and the Lucis Trust World Service Fund) that promote various forms of Theosophy, an anti-Christian, New Age spiritual movement.

The URI supports the Earth Charter, a radical environmental manifesto promoted by Mikhail Gorbachev. President Bush, a neo-conservative Republican, and Grey Davis, the embattled liberal Democratic governor of California, have both commended the interfaith work of the URI and Bishop Swing.

URI leaders repeatedly equate evangelism to manipulative "proselytizing" and violence. As Bishop Swing has said, "In order for a United Religions to come about and for religions to pursue peace among each other, there will have to be a godly cease-fire, a temporary truce where the absolute exclusive claims of each will be honored, but an agreed-upon neutrality will be exercised in terms of proselytizing, condemning, murdering or dominating. These will not be tolerated in the United Religions zone" (1) - which evidently covers the whole world.

URI leaders say "proselytizing" is the work of "fundamentalists," and Paul Chafee (who was then a URI board member) said at a URI forum in 1997, "We can't afford fundamentalists in a world this small." (2) If the URI vision prevails, Christian evangelism based on the unique, saving identity and acts of Christ would be ruled out.

Rabbi Visits Benedict XVI

Pope: "We Need to Work Together"

VATICAN CITY, JAN. 13, 2011 (Zenit.org).- A New-York born rabbi who is the chancellor of a Jewish-Christian cooperation group in Israel met with Benedict XVI after Wednesday's general audience.

Rabbi Shlomo Riskin, chief rabbi of Efrat, West Bank, met with the Pope and briefed him on the work of the Center for Jewish-Christian Understanding and Cooperation (CJCUC).

“We are taking Your Holiness’ call to stand in solidarity with our Christian brothers and sisters in Israel and advocating on their behalf,” Riskin said, according to a CJCUC statement. He told the Holy Father that the group is looking for ways to alleviate Christians' poverty in Israel and to foster dialogue on issues of faith.

Benedict XVI responded that “we need to work together," the statement informed.

“One cannot hold to the charge that the Jewish people, either in the first century or at any other time, are responsible for the death of Jesus (the so-called charge of deicide) without falling out of communion with the Catholic Church. It contradicts both Vatican II (1962-1965) and the Council of Trent (1548-1563), not to mention a proper reading of the New Testament,”

(1 Thessalonians 2:14) For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews:
(1 Thessalonians 2:15) Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:
(1 Thessalonians 2:16) Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.
