But the “difference” lies in the fact that the cathedral is in fact a temple of Neo-Pagan-Bordeline-Satanic-the-Environment-is-more-important-than-human-life beliefs. I personally couldn’t care less about each individual’s beliefs, but to trick unsuspecting church goers into an occult house of worship is nothing less than Evil.

Every year, at Halloween, St. John the Divine is the host of a strange event called “The Grand Procession of the Ghouls”. It is basically a parade taking place right inside the sanctuary of the Cathedral where people dressed in costumes of demons, ghouls, monsters and other creepy things, walk around to macabre organ music. This thing resembles the strange rituals held behind closed doors by occult groups. Outside of the great number of costumes representing demons and Satan (already extremely bizarre for a Cathedral), some costumes seem to make a mockery out of Christianity.

Mr. Silverman is President of American Atheists and was the Creator and Executive Producer of the Reason Rally. He attended Brandeis University, where he completed his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science while honing his debating skills with theists in numerous informal debates. Dave served as a professional inventor at Bell Labs for 8 years (74 issued patents) and a Marketing Director for Natural Microsystems.

He has been an atheist since he was 6-years-old. Dave became an activist in 1996 and soon became New Jersey State Director. Who Was Madalyn Murray O'Hair?
Ten years after her mysterious disappearance and gruesome murder, the legacy of the famous atheist is still up for grabs.

Most Americans today would have a difficult time naming the man responsible for bringing the recent case to take "Under God" out of the Pledge of Allegiance to the Supreme Court, even though Michael Newdow is arguably America's most well-known--and most detested--living atheist. But in the 1960s, no one would have had a hard time remembering the name Madalyn Murray.



Murray was known for her role in the landmark 1963 Supreme Court decision in

Murray v. Curlett
, which, combined with

Abington v. Schempp
, ended school prayer in public schools across the U.S. and turned her into the self-described "most hated woman in America."

Later in 1963, O'Hair founded American Atheists, which remains one of the most activist atheist groups in the U.S. today. She used her platform as president of the organization to launch a number of other separation of church and state cases. None, however, were as successful or as notorious as Murray v. Curlett. In late 1963, she unsuccessfully sued the city of Baltimore to eliminate the city's tax exemptions for churches. She also challenged the school board of Baltimore to remove "Under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance and filed suit over Maryland's "moment of silence" law, also without success.
