Healing one's self and the world are at the heart of Judaism, the rootstock of two of the world's other major religions: Christianity and Islam. Its spirit has been kept alive for thousands of years through the arts, music, storytelling, prayer and intellectual pursuits -- elements that have played a central role in preserving the Jewish faith through adversity.

The Chaplaincy Institute for Arts & Interfaith Ministries announces "Introduction to Judaism and the Blessings of the Sacred Circle" a five-day session on the practice of Judaism Sept. 25-29 at Wesley Hall in San Rafael.

Participants will be introduced to the history -- sufferings and celebrations -- of Judaism through storytelling, music, and study of Kabbalah, Judaism's mystical dimension.

Contemporary forms of Judaism will be explored. These include Conservative, Orthodox, Reformed, Hasidic, and Zionist. Each branch differs from the other in the form of ritual observance and tradition, such as food preparation.

Activities will include examination of healing through prayer, chant, and dream work and those in attendance will have an opportunity to explore the Tree of Life and other tools of sacred practice.

The public is also invited to attend the community Shabbat Service 6-9 PM, Sept. 27
This session -- one of many the institute offers in its ordination program -- is appropriate for all levels of interest and can be attended by the general public.
Upcoming class modules include an Introduction to Islam and Sufism (October), and Introduction to Hinduism and the Dark Feminine (November).

The institute focuses on respect and appreciation for the world's major religions and each module represents one or two of these faith traditions. Emphasis is placed upon the spiritual arts, such as dance, music, painting, storytelling, mandalas, and altar-making.

Chaplaincy Institute for Arts and Interfaith Ministries is a Marin-based non-profit organization that serves the entire Bay Area. It is designed to educate, certify, and ordain individuals for creative ministry, chaplaincy, healing, spiritual direction and the sacred arts in schools, healthcare facilities, hospices, correctional facilities, and residential treatment centers.

This educational institution also provides Continuing Education Units for nurses, marriage and family therapists, and licensed clinical social workers.

■The experience of inter-Church dialogue in Ireland has a wider significance for conflicts involving religious as well as historical-political dimensions.
■We should encourage a joint approach from faith and political leaders in Ireland to the United Nations to explore ongoing dialogue between political and religious leaders at international level about the peace and well-being of the whole human family.

Find a time that you can be alone and turn your thoughts and concentration of consciousness toward a point in the center of your head. Think of your head as being a perfect sphere and try to visualize the very center of this sphere. Next, think of a little organ or body that is about the size of the elongation of the soft palate at the back of the throat. Visualize it as having nerves going to and from it in all directions and as being the center of consciousness of your physical and psychic bodies. As you concentrate upon it, put yourself, your thinking self, into that little body as though all of you were in it and thinking from that point. With five minutes of such concentration, several times a week, you will be enlarging its consciousness and awakening it in a manner that you will not realize objectively for some time. Never mind the name of this center or what others have said about it. The name that science has given to it is only man's attempt to label something that he does not thoroughly understand. You might merely think of it as the mind of your psychic self.

The enlargement of this center and others as we go along with the classes will develop intuition, psychic impressions, inner comprehension, and cosmic attunement.

You will soon come to know what was meant by the Master Jesus and by hundreds of mystics of his time and later when they said that the Kingdom of Heaven is within; for you will find that this psychic center is really the Portal or Threshold of the great chamber of the Divine or Cosmic Kingdom. It is worth all of the time and effort required during the next few months to stay on the path to the Portal, the Threshold of the Kingdom.

Ummm Names? I havent really dugg into specifics like that yet. I DO se that "Chrsitan Schools/colleges/universities Have yoga classes. (theres a few of them...look into it...i only did a small peer..)

Oh AND theres allot of "Christ-centered Yoga" (whatever the heck that means) poping up all over.

Anyway Rob....we dont know how all this is gonna flesh out. We only know there will be deception of a great magnitude coming up. This latest rhetoric looks like a possible Christo-Muslim doubleteam against talmudism. Maybe it could unleash a worldwide backlash against Judaism? Then suddenly a discovery of an ark of the covenant or similar wonderous event to legitamize Judaism and usher forth the solution of a false Jewish Messiah?

I don't think the pope will be the anti-christ. A pope may be the false prophet. But i believe the anti-christ will be someone more acceptable to the jews then a catholic pope.

I just cannot see jews accepting a catholic pope as the Messiah.
