Doctrine of Election & Assurance
After talking on many forums about these basic doctrines it seems to me that most Chrsitians cannot really ignore or refute the clear ideas that true believers are predestined to salvation and that nothing can change that fact.
So does this mean that most Christians are closet Calvinists?
Alot of people , me included, seem to be put off 'Calvinism' after run ins with those who identify themselves as such and take the idea a few steps too far.
Are there any major denominations who refute these doctrines?
Romans 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

I am definitely not a closet calvinists.
When you get right down into the basement foundations of calvinism you see
where it is built from and it is very ugly and an insult to the character of
God.
When you get down to the nitty gritty of calvinsim it states that God created
people who where created to burn, to be condemned, who had and have no
opportunity to be saved. While God created others to have eternal life with
Him, who have no option but to accept His atonement.
This doctrine makes God out to be a psychotic megalomaniac playing a sick game.
For me the God of Abraham Predestines from His Foreknowledge. That word
"foreknew" is not an idle word in scripture it has meaning but it is
a word ignored by calvanists.
God does know who will have eternity with Him and He has known from the
beginning. But He has known this from His Foreknowledge of all History and all
our lives. He did not create some for the purpose of burning and others for the
purpose of saving. If that where the case all that are called would be chosen.
But the scriptures declare.
Matthew 22
14 “For many are called, but few are chosen.”

Ahh I think I get what your saying. God foreknew who would get saved and who wouldn't but He didn't specifically create them for that purpose. Hmmm...interesting.
But, what about 'Vessels of Destruction'?
How about Pharaoe (cant spell it ) who God raised up for the purpose of evil?
