Lamentations 2:6 King James Version (KJV)
6 And he hath violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden: he hath destroyed his places of the assembly: the Lord hath caused the solemn feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion, and hath despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest.
Lamentations 2:6 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
6 He pulled up his own tent
as if it were a garden.
He has ruined the place where the people
came together to worship him.
The Lord has made people forget
the special assemblies and special days of rest in Zion.
He rejected the king and the priests.
He was angry and rejected them.

This a place we never want to have God get with us, this only comes from a devoted rebellion against Him, we have Christ to turn to but one day chances will run out.

Lamentations 2:7 King James Version (KJV)

Lamentations 2:12 King James Version (KJV)

12 They ask their mothers,
“Where is the bread and wine?”
as they pour out their life in their mother’s laps.

We all have basic needs but few of us see our need for Him which is what they were struggling with they knew they needed water and food but did not see their need for the Lord.

Lamentations 2:13 King James Version (KJV)
13 What thing shall I take to witness for thee? what thing shall I liken to thee, O daughter of Jerusalem? what shall I equal to thee, that I may comfort thee, O virgin daughter of Zion? for thy breach is great like the sea: who can heal thee?
Lamentations 2:13 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
13 My dear Jerusalem, what can I say about you?
What can I compare you to?
What can I say you are like?
How can I comfort you, city of Zion?
You have been hurt much too badly
for anyone to heal.

These are my thoughts.
Israel was looking to everything to heal them and make them happy but they weren’t looking to the Lord who could, we should look to the Lord for our comfort.
