i'm at part 3.
same dizzy interviewer, but she says almost nothing.
this series is a fast-paced super-basic historical review of the years leading up to the coming of Christ the first time. i don't know who the pastor, Sean Finnegan is.
very very important info, though, with some things i did not know (must follow up).

i recently did my own chapter by chapter study of the book of daniel - one of the coolest things i've ever done, and i understand all of it. i didn't think i would or that it was even possible.
but i matched it all to history and it's a LOCK.
these one hour historical surveys are great because for some reason everybody skips over that period, and ya can't understand Daniel without knowing that history.
i ended up reading Maccabees to help out during my own study, even though it's not in Protestant canon.
..

upshot - the Book of Daniel covers the same period of history, the kingdoms, etc as these lectures cover (real basic)....leading into the condition of Israel through the kingdoms of the Metal Man image in Daniel unto the First Advent.
really helpful knowing the Herods etc.
..
my own Daniel study (last year) proves that the entire book was fulfilled, ending with the Roman-Jewish wars and the destruction of Jerusalem.
i'll post the whole study i did here one day soon. you're gonna LOVE it....Glory to God, every single detail is matched perfectly to the people and events of the period...and prophesied so long before it came to pass.
once you know this, if you don't already, the dispies can't get away with a thing - all that revived roman empire, daniel's 70th week off in the future somewhere etc...LOL)

z
ps Doc - i found the remove formatting....haha

again, i'm sure we already have this somewhere, but this little book is pure GOLD.

The Seventy Weeks and the Great Tribulation
A Study of the Last Two Visions of Daniel, and of the Olivet Discourse of the Lord Jesus Christ
Philip Mauro (1921)

ENJOY!
Mauro busted the dispensationalist rubbish right when it was coming out.
