Among President Bush’s last words as he left office was the warning that America would soon be struck again by Muslim terrorists.

If America were infected with terrorists, we would not need the government to tell us. We would know it from events. As there are no events, the US government substitutes warnings in order to keep alive the fear that causes the public to accept pointless wars, the infringement of civil liberty, national ID cards, and inconveniences and harassments when they fly.

The most obvious indication that there are no terrorist cells is that not a single neocon has been assassinated.

I do not approve of assassinations, and am ashamed of my country’s government for engaging in political assassination. The US and Israel have set a very bad example for al Qaeda to follow.

The US deals with al Qaeda and Taliban by assassinating their leaders, and Israel deals with Hamas by assassinating its leaders. It is reasonable to assume that al Qaeda would deal with the instigators and leaders of America’s wars in the Middle East in the same way.

Today every al Qaeda member is aware of the complicity of neoconservatives in the death and devastation inflicted on Muslims in Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon and Gaza. Moreover, neocons are highly visible and are soft targets compared to Hamas and Hezbollah leaders. Neocons have been identified in the media for years, and as everyone knows, multiple listings of their names are available online.

Neocons do not have Secret Service protection. Dreadful to contemplate, but it would be child’s play for al Qaeda to assassinate any and every neocon. Yet, neocons move around freely, a good indication that the US does not have a terrorist problem.

If, as neocons constantly allege, terrorists can smuggle nuclear weapons or dirty bombs into the US with which to wreak havoc upon our cities, terrorists can acquire weapons with which to assassinate any neocon or former government official.

Yet, the neocons, who are the Americans most hated by Muslims, remain unscathed.

The “war on terror” is a hoax that fronts for American control of oil pipelines, the profits of the military-security complex, the assault on civil liberty by fomenters of a police state, and Israel’s territorial expansion.

There were no al Qaeda in Iraq until the Americans brought them there by invading and overthrowing Saddam Hussein, who kept al Qaeda out of Iraq. The Taliban is not a terrorist organization, but a movement attempting to unify Afghanistan under Muslim law. The only Americans threatened by the Taliban are the Americans Bush sent to Afghanistan to kill Taliban and to impose a puppet state on the Afghan people.

Hamas is the democratically elected government of Palestine, or what little remains of Palestine after Israel’s illegal annexations. Hamas is a terrorist organization in the same sense that the Israeli government and the US government are terrorist organizations. In an effort to bring Hamas under Israeli hegemony, Israel employs terror bombing and assassinations against Palestinians. Hamas replies to the Israeli terror with homemade and ineffectual rockets.

Hezbollah represents the Shi’ites of southern Lebanon, another area in the Middle East that Israel seeks for its territorial expansion.

The US brands Hamas and Hezbollah “terrorist organizations” for no other reason than the US is on Israel’s side of the conflict. There is no objective basis for the US Department of State’s “finding” that Hamas and Hezbollah are terrorist organizations. It is merely a propagandistic declaration.

Americans and Israelis do not call their bombings of civilians terror. What Americans and Israelis call terror is the response of oppressed people who are stateless because their countries are ruled by puppets loyal to the oppressors. These people, dispossessed of their own countries, have no State Departments, Defense Departments, seats in the United Nations, or voices in the mainstream media. They can submit to foreign hegemony or resist by the limited means available to them.

The fact that Israel and the United States carry on endless propaganda to prevent this fundamental truth from being realized indicates that it is Israel and the US that are in the wrong and the Palestinians, Lebanese, Iraqis, and Afghans who are being wronged.

The retired American generals who serve as war propagandists for Fox “News” are forever claiming that Iran arms the Iraqi and Afghan insurgents and Hamas. But where are the arms? To deal with American tanks, insurgents have to construct homemade explosive devices out of artillery shells. After six years of conflict the insurgents still have no weapon against the American helicopter gunships. Contrast this “arming” with the weaponry the US supplied to the Afghans three decades ago when they were fighting to drive out the Soviets.

The films of Israel’s murderous assault on Gaza show large numbers of Gazans fleeing from Israeli bombs or digging out the dead and maimed, and none of these people are armed. A person would think that by now every Palestinian would be armed, every man, woman, and child. Yet, all the films of the Israeli attack show an unarmed population. Hamas has to construct homemade rockets that are little more than a sign of defiance. If Hamas were armed by Iran, Israel’s assault on Gaza would have cost Israel its helicopter gunships, its tanks, and hundreds of lives of its soldiers.

Hamas is a small organization armed with small caliber rifles incapable of penetrating body armor. Hamas is unable to stop small bands of Israeli settlers from descending on West Bank Palestinian villages, driving out the Palestinians, and appropriating their land.

The great mystery is: why after 60 years of oppression are the Palestinians still an unarmed people? Clearly, the Muslim countries are complicit with Israel and the US in keeping the Palestinians unarmed.

The unsupported assertion that Iran supplies sophisticated arms to the Palestinians is like the unsupported assertion that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. These assertions are propagandistic justifications for killing Arab civilians and destroying civilian infrastructure in order to secure US and Israeli hegemony in the Middle East.

Islamic Group with British Intelligence Links Threatens Royal Wedding

Once again, the corporate media rolls out a scary story about Islamists threatening the state, this time represented by the British royal family.

“Police are concerned about two extreme groups which are planning protests during the Royal Wedding,” Sky News reports today.

Sky News reports that Muslims Against the Crusades has decided to protest outside of Westminster Abbey where the Archbishop of Canterbury will marry Prince William of Wales and Miss Catherine Middleton on Friday. The group was told it would not be allowed to protest there.

Muslims Against Crusades wants a general Muslim uprising on Friday and has reportedly told Princes William and Harry to “watch your backs,” apparently a thinly veiled threat.

The royal wedding will be guarded by a massive security operation, including around 5,000 police officers and hundreds of soldiers in uniform. Assistant Commissioner Lynne Owens of the London Metropolitan Police sounded a lot like Janet Napolitano. “We want the public to be our eyes and ears and report anything suspicious or unusual.”

The mention of Muslims Against Crusades and its leader, Anjem Choudary, should set off alarm bells. Choudary founded another Islamic group, al-Muhajiroun, with Omar Bakri Muhammed, who admitted in 1998 he shares a special relationship with British intelligence. “I think now we have something called public immunity,” he said during an interview.

Authors Sean O’Neill and Daniel McGrory have documented a special relationship between Islamist leaders, including Abu Hamza al-Masri and Abu Qatada, and British intelligence.

The British Secret Service, MI6, protected Haroon Rashid Aswat, the alleged mastermind of the 7/7 London bombings, according to counterterrorism expert John Loftus. Aswat was affiliated with al-Muhajiroun.

Loftus said Aswat’s relationship with British intelligence began in the late 1990s with the war in Kosovo and the recruitment of the so-called Afghan Arabs, also known as the CIA-supported Mujahideen, in the concerted effort to undermine Yugoslavia.

The Muslim Brotherhood was corrupted early on by British intelligence, and later by the CIA. According to CIA agent Miles Copeland, the agency began working with the Brotherhood in the 1950s. This signaled the beginning of an alliance between the traditional regimes and mass Islamic movements against Arab nationalism. The Israelis also exploited radical Islam in its war against Arab national movements, specifically Palestinian nationalist movement.

Muslims Against Crusades and Anjem Choudary appear to be ready to violate the ban on protesting and the British police on Friday. Considering the history of radical Islamists in the United Kingdom, it is entirely possible the confrontation now unfolding was designed by British intelligence.

Al-Qaeda and Iranian allies 'plan Hiroshima attack'

AL-QAEDA leaders in Iraq are planning the first "large-scale" terrorist attacks on Britain and other western targets with the help of supporters in Iran, according to a leaked intelligence report.


Spy chiefs warn that one operative had said he was planning an attack on "a par with Hiroshima and Nagasaki" in an attempt to "shake the Roman throne", a reference to the West, according to The Times newspaper in the UK.

Another plot could be timed to coincide with Tony Blair stepping down as prime minister, an event described by al-Qaeda planners as a "change in the head of the company".

The report, produced earlier this month and seen by The Sunday Times, appears to provide evidence that al-Qaeda is active in Iran and has ambitions far beyond the improvised attacks it has been waging against British and American soldiers in Iraq.

There is no evidence of a formal relationship between al-Qaeda, a Sunni group, and the Shiite regime of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, but experts suggest that Iran’s leaders may be turning a blind eye to the terrorist organisation’s activities," reports The Times.

The intelligence report also makes it clear that senior al-Qaeda figures in the region have been in recent contact with operatives in Britain.

It follows revelations last year that up to 150 Britons had travelled to Iraq to fight as part of al-Qaeda’s "foreign legion". A number are thought to have returned to the UK, after receiving terrorist training, to form sleeper cells.

The report was compiled by the Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre (JTAC) - based at MI5’s London headquarters - and provides a quarterly review of the international terror threat to Britain. It draws a distinction between Osama Bin Laden and al-Qaeda’s core leadership, who are thought to be hiding on the Afghan-Pakistan border, and affiliated organisations elsewhere.

The document states: "While networks linked to AQ (al-Qaeda) Core pose the greatest threat to the UK, the intelligence during this quarter has highlighted the potential threat from other areas, particularly AQI (al-Qaeda in Iraq)."

The report continues: "Recent reporting has described AQI’s Kurdish network in Iran planning what we believe may be a large-scale attack against a western target.
"A member of this network is reportedly involved in an operation which he believes requires AQ Core authorisation. He claims the operation will be on 'a par with Hiroshima and Naga-saki' and will 'shake the Roman throne'. We assess that this operation is most likely to be a large-scale, mass casualty attack against the West."

The report says there is "no indication" this attack would specifically target Britain, "although we are aware that AQI . . . networks are active in the UK".

Analysts believe the reference to Hiroshima and Nagasaki, where more than 200,000 people died in nuclear attacks on Japan at the end of WWII, is unlikely to be a literal boast.

"It could be just a reference to a huge explosion," said a counter-terrorist source. "They (al-Qaeda) have got to do something soon that is radical otherwise they start losing credibility."

Despite aspiring to a nuclear capability, al-Qaeda is not thought to have acquired weapons grade material. However, several plots involving "dirty bombs" - conventional explosive devices surrounded by radioactive material - have been foiled.
Last year al-Qaeda’s leader in Iraq called on nuclear scientists to apply their knowledge of biological and radiological weapons to "the field of jihad".
Details of a separate plot to attack Britain, "ideally" before Blair steps down this summer, were contained in a letter written by Abdul al-Hadi al-Iraqi, an Iraqi Kurd and senior al-Qaeda commander.

According to the JTAC document, Hadi "stressed the need to take care to ensure that the attack was successful and on a large scale". The plan was to be relayed to an Iran-based al-Qaeda facilitator.

The Home Office declined to comment.

Went to tesco,s in Diss, norfolk, uk today, both ATM machines were down, out of service, which is unusual, maybe at times one goes, but both ATMS?

Bank of Scotland, reminded me of the financial predictions made by some experts, that one day, could be soon,? we will wake up, to ATM,S no longer in service, as the financial system hits gridlock, for the banks.?

perfectly logical explanation no doubt, as to why both ATM,S were down out of service, as mentioned, just made me think, eather due to solar flares, some speaking of national grids being effected, for up to three years, or due to financial systems collapsing, or becoming gridlocked. either way peoples responce one day, when they turn on the light and theres no power, or the ATM,S not working, how many days before the looting would begin, ect. i dont think it would take long for things to sprial out of control.may not be the case, may never happen, though there are those predicting it can and will?

Fears of Ivory Coast cash shortage drain bank machines, close banks

A third bank shut its doors Wednesday amid a political crisis in Ivory Coast, as residents in the commercial hub lined up at banks to try to withdraw their savings amid rumours of a cash shortage.
British bank Standard Chartered confirmed in an e-mail Wednesday that it had suspended its operations in Ivory Coast, joining two other banks, BICICI and Citibank, and the regional stock exchange.
Hundreds of people marched from one bank to the next in downtown Abidjan Wednesday afternoon, trying to find a working bank machine.
“They say all the banks are going to close,” said high school guidance counsellor Albert Kramo. “I've been to three banks today to try and get out some money before it's too late.”
Crowds formed outside of several banks which swung their large metal gates closed in order to prevent the front doors from being rushed.
Two months after a contested presidential election that led incumbent leader Laurent Gbagbo to refuse to cede power, international financial pressure supporting his opponent, Alassane Ouattara, has finally made its presence felt.
“Money is drying out,” said business risk analyst Lydie Boka, manager of the France-based firm StrategieCo. “We live in a globalized world, and Gbagbo is trapped.”
Of thirteen banks visited in Abidjan Wednesday, 11 were open for business, though only four had working banking machines, according to an Associated Press tally.
A manager at the Ivorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry said he was certain nearly every bank would close in coming days. He asked not to be named because of the sensitivity of the issue.
The Central Bank of West African States, known by its French acronym BCEAO, endorsed Mr. Ouattara's victory in November's election nearly two months ago but didn't succeed in cutting Mr. Gbagbo off from state coffers until it fired its president, a close Gbagbo ally accused of funnelling money to his friend, in January.
Mr. Gbagbo reacted by seizing the central bank's offices in Ivory Coast, but the electronic financial regulation system, controlled from the head office in Dakar, Senegal, was cut off.
“Gbagbo has been trying to use the BCEAO offices in Abidjan as a central bank,” Ms. Boka said, “but international banks cannot deal with this ad-hoc central bank because of the sanctions, so they're simply shutting down.”
The European Union has imposed a visa ban and financial sanctions on Mr. Gbagbo and dozens of members of his inner circle. It has also prohibited any European companies from doing business with a long list of top officials and institutions accused of propping up Mr. Gbagbo's regime.
The U.S. has also announced a visa ban on a shorter list of Gbagbo allies.
While the Chamber of Commerce says less than 5 per cent of Ivorians hold bank accounts, those accounts “feed the rest of the economy,” said Ms. Boka, estimating that one bank account may support 50 people or more, both family members and informal employees paid in cash.
“It's really only the civil servants and the army that have bank accounts,” she said. But they support dozens of workers such as mechanics and mobile phone credit vendors.
Meanwhile, bank managers have been quietly leaving the country ever since the BCEAO threatened criminal proceedings against any bank doing business with Mr. Gbagbo's central bank, said a Western diplomat who asked not to be named because he is not permitted to speak with the media. Two managers were stopped at the airport this weekend, the diplomat said, and prevented from leaving by police officers loyal to Mr. Gbagbo.
Late Tuesday, the regional stock exchange, the BVRM, announced that it would also suspend all trading in Abidjan after Gbagbo-friendly troops seized the building last week.
While the Abidjan trading floor was open on Wednesday, journalists were not allowed to enter the building.
“It's possible that the exchange has been opened by those that illegally occupy it, but there are no transactions being carried out,” said Lene Sebgo, chairman of the exchange's board of directors.
“No quotes will be accepted and only the situation and the data up to February 11 will be recorded,” he said.
Computer printouts posted at many bank branches informed clients of reduced banking hours. At one downtown branch of the SIB bank, the crowd grew angry after security stopped allowing people in a few minutes before the 3 p.m. closing time.
“It's not even closing time yet and they're already cutting us off,” said Moussa Traore, a retiree. “How am I going to pay for food for my family?” he said.
